Earlsferry Thistle Golf Club instituted 1875
Our one annual Open Competition is usually held on the first Saturday in June. See our fixtures list page. There are two Cups to be played for as well as other prizes for coming close. The J. N. Smith Cup is for the best net score and the James Braid Cup for the best handicap score. There is a handicap limit of 24 for entry to the Competition. Entries can be made online or by post to the Secretary, or online through the Wee Yellow Book where the Competition is listed. To enter please send the following details: Name; Contact number/email; CDH number if known; home club; exact handicap; and your preferred time. (Not guaranteed). Entry this year is £20. The Cups are named after two of our most illustrious former members. James Braid the renowned golf course designer and Jock Nelson Smith who played in the Walker Cup team in 1930 and played in the final of the British Amateur the year before.
